Mission
We are an interaction design studio working with a range of companies and organizations. We design new digital tools for complex work and new versions of existing software, including products where people and AI work together.
We work with the people who use these products to understand their needs and design solutions. We combine research, design, and computer science to solve problems and turn ideas into working prototypes. We work with developers as they turn the designs into finished products.
Alongside client work, we explore our own ideas and share open-source prototypes. We use what we learn in our client projects and share our findings so others can build on them.
Working together
We work with companies and organizations worldwide. First, we discuss your question, context, and project scope. Then, we agree on the scope and provide an estimate before work begins.
We can also start with one to five days focused on a specific problem. You see how we work, and we both assess whether we are a good fit.
Vision
We shape the next generation of digital tools, opening new ways for people to think, create, and work. As a creative lab, we bring design and computer science together to explore these possibilities and make tools that respect people’s attention and that people can shape themselves.
Values
Respect people’s attention.
People’s attention is limited and valuable. We design interfaces that meet their needs and help them focus on what matters to them. We want people to feel cared for, stay present, and be satisfied with the experience and the result.
Turn new technology into products.
We keep up with new developments in computer science and use design to turn them into future tools. We build prototypes to explore how these products work and how people will use them.
Stay curious.
We make time to explore questions and ideas that interest us. We try things out and let what we discover guide us.
Give ideas room to develop.
We question existing solutions and explore different ways an idea could take shape. We sketch, experiment, and build prototypes to see how those ideas work. Research and what we learn from people help us decide what to develop further. We use design principles to work through the details of how it looks, feels, and works.
Let people shape their tools.
We design tools with the people who use them. We give people room to adapt those tools to their own tasks and ways of working, and to keep changing them as their needs develop.
Contribute through open source.
We develop and share ideas, methods, and working prototypes. We explain what we tried and what we learned so others can use our work and take it further.
